Millennium Consulting Associates is a grow-oriented environmental consulting firm poised for considerable growth in the next 5-10 years. The ideal candidate for the Project Manager position understands this role requires many levels of leadership to help advance our company to its optimal performance.
Performance Leadership - Deliver on the safety goals and financial budget (i.e., sales, net revenue, profit, and cash management) for your team. Contribute to company’s safety culture through active safety leadership. Have familiarity with and ability to operate in the “seller & doer” model, perform reviews of projects and coach our team to enhance the service delivery, client satisfaction and business growth.
Commercial Leadership - Participate in developing growth strategies for Millennium and supporting the overall financial success of the company by working collaboratively with the Management Team. Ensure delivery on company services to key clients. This includes working on the development of key client action plans and championing the use of sales tools and training. Assist in the development and implementation of practiced growth.
The Person - The ideal candidate will be key team member for our company. This person will have interacted with client businesses in a fashion that has achieved trusted advisor status.
S/he will have the natural ability to deal with ambiguity with the proven skill set of being able to instantly shift gears when necessary to offer creative approaches to emerging opportunities. The ideal candidate will have worked closely within the top ranks of senior management in a high-growth culture; this unique perspective will allow them to partner closely with our company’s senior management in the pursuit of ensuring our client management platform goes to market with a single face and strategy that align with overall business goals.
General Responsibilities:
Will perform and manage a variety of projects, tasks and duties under the general supervision of Senior staff and/or company Principals. This position requires a responsible and conscientious individual experienced in technical, service and business aspects of environmental consulting. Tasks can vary from day-to-day, but will include:
Performing industrial hygiene evaluations including: field inspections, sampling of air/water/soil/building materials for the presence of hazardous materials, employee monitoring, abatement and construction monitoring and/or management;
Perform Industrial Hygiene Exposure Assessments
Analyze site conditions, interpret regulatory requirements and provide recommendations associated with physical, chemical and biological stressors;
Preparing and/or reviewing remediation plans and specifications;
Performing environmental and geoenvironmental evaluation of sites, including air/water/site permitting, hazardous materials management, assisting with design preparations including AUTOCAD site plan preparations.
Preparing Assessment and Remediation Reports.
Developing technical project proposals and detailed budgets.
Performing Client Management and Development duties: Candidate will work with Client Development staff to carry out Corporate goals and objectives.This position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Travel within California will be required. Night, weekend and holiday work may be required. The candidate must possess a current driver’s license, automobile and insurance.
Prerequisites
Education & Technical Experience:
A solid understanding of construction practices, building and engineering technology; knowledge of basic chemistry, geology and mathematics;
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans;
At a minimum, possess a four-year degree in the health sciences, construction technology, engineering sciences;
A minimum of 3-5 years of field experience - sampling and evaluating building and related components for hazardous materials;
Client Management & Development Experience:
Experience in client presentations – including “short-list” interviews preferred;
Experience in contract and/or client management preferred
Experience in with local/regional business climate highly preferred;
Ability to meet prospective clients, develop technical and cost proposals highly preferred.
Oral Communication skills: The candidate must be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills as this position requires significant personal interaction in a variety of settings.
Written Communication skills: The candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to prepare written documents, memorandums and letter reports using MS Office;
Computer Literacy: The ideal candidate will be proficient throughout MS Office applications; competent with basic database programs and graphics; familiar with Autocad and/or Autocad LT.
Certification(s)
Professional certification in the following disciplines
State Certification in Asbestos and Lead (CAC/CSST) – REQUIRED
Microbial/IAQ professional certification is encouraged
Advancement towards obtaining California Professional Engineer (PE, Civil) and/or Certification in Industrial Hygiene (CIH, Comprehensive) is encouraged and supported
Personal transportation is required along with state-required insurance.
Compensation

The compensation package is dependent upon education, technical and client management/development experience.
